Got to thinking my last trip that I cant be the only one :D

Have sort of always had one with me starting in my class 11 VW wheelin days.

Got my first one from an Apache pilot neighbor when I was in my teens in the 80s. Guessing it was Viet Nam era. The blade had no serrations and a canvas cover.

Carried that for a long time and I'm not sure what happened to it. Got a newer version in the early 2000s to replace it. And picked up a molle pouch for it a couple years ago.

Nothing beats a real shovel, but these are pretty useful.

Nope, when I got out of basic training in 1984, I swore I would never carry one again!! I hated that thing after having to dig a fox hole with it.

I guess they might come in handy at some point in time, but I still hate them to this day.

was turned onto them in the early 80's and have been carrying THEM ever since

about 15 years ago i was shown how much better they are when THE EDGES ARE SHARPENED

having to use one is knot my idea of funn howsumever kneading one and knot having one pleases me less

just an old man's 2¢ worth

I carry this thing in the rig, but I also have that full-folding model which lives in the wife’s SUV.

I’m never without a shovel. In the truck I carry a full sized shovel since I have the room.

One in my '93 Toyota Winnebago camper, one in my '03 Wrangler, and one in my tool bucket of whatever my work vehicle happens to be. Bought one in '74 at a military surplus store, bought one in a junk store in Oklahoma a couple years later, and lo and behold. it seems I have another one from somewhere. I've used 'em camping, getting out of mud/holes, and in some home repair jobs.
