What is the name of this part on the full door interior panel

Hey guys, I'm trying to remove this part wrap the upper door panel in leather. I can't seem to remove that part. What is it called and what's the best way to remove it? It's being hold in place with staples.

Back in the day, we referred to it as windlace. As you noted it is stapled to the plastic door card, I would try to carefully pull them if I needed to remove it. Try to pry the folded ends of the staples open a bit first (small screwdriver?), might help in pulling and keep from breaking the door car plastic. Probably going to be a bit tedious.
