Eaton e-lockers and 37’s

I'm assuming they are JK ball joints. ECGS had a couple options when I ordered the axle.

JK ball joints are the same size as TJ, the only real difference is the lower has a different taper on the pin. I’d be shocked if whatever you got is really ready for 40’s.

They aren't standard TJ ball joints either. They are bigger in diameter where they go into the C's.
Bullshit. The TJ knuckle won't work if you increase the area around the ball joints and it is already as thin as it can be. Even if you beef up the inner C with heavy duty forgings, you still have to carve most of it away or the stupid knuckle won't turn.

Shouldn't be hard to prove me wrong, just post up a link to the hybrid ball joints that have a TJ knuckle pin diameter and a larger body. NBD.

Maybe they aren't. I'm going off what I was told when I ordered the axles. No need to be a dick about it though.

That's what ECGS said and they are the ones warranting the axle.
They can say whatever they like, what they can't do is fix the problems that are created by running the TJ knuckles.
At no point is the inner axle yoke, the outer axle yoke, the unit bearing, ball joints, and u-joint good enough for a consistent diet of anything where 40's are needed. Even if you swap to RCV, you still ain't gonna like it.

If they cover that stuff, haul ass.

I’m not saying they didn’t say it but I’m sure they also want to sell axles and they probably aren’t going to be held up much liability wise if you break a ball joint on 40’s.

Unless I’m missing something, the only thing remotely close to a Dana 44 for the front of a TJ they sell is the 489NR and it uses OE YJ/XJ/TJ Dana Spicer ball joints or has an option for Synergy or no ball joints. I know first hand what a pile of garbage Synergy ball joints are, those wore out on me in a year on 31’s on the street.

It's the 489NR that I have.

You're no different than Jerry. I've only states the same thing that the axle manufacturer says. Fuck off.
Again, you can state whatever you like but that works a whole bunch better when you apply a teensie amount of common sense and put your dick back in your pants and stop swinging it around which is what started this mess.

Look boys I didn’t mean to start an all out war here… I just wanted to know if I could put 37’s on e lockers and chrome moly axle shafts…but I’m hearing about ball joints and king pins… I get it… but trust me what @mrblaine says is usually gospel

What he says isn't gospel. His attitude is the same as Jerry's, he's never wrong.

I have 37's on 44's with no issues. I wouldn't run 37's on a 30.

If you hop into a conversation and tell a bald faced lie, that's gonna start something and you had nothing to do with that. It is more than ball joints, they are just the easiest and most obvious. And lest we forget, he doubled down on his crap by lying about how big the ball joints are.

I'm frequently wrong, this just isn't one of those times and I offered to let you prove me wrong by posting up your special ball joints which now apparently don't exist. I do find it somewhat amusing that you're trying to make your lies somehow my fault when all I did was point out that anyone that says TJ ball joints can handle 40's is a liar.

I know I know… everybody that has been on this forum for a time should know to trust what you say 99 times out of 100 you are correct
