TJ Rubicon axles, 2-1/2" lift, Genright Highlines. I am going to 37's and have these JL Rubi rims from a friend. I really like how they look on my Jeep but they have like 6" backspace.

I know I'd have to run adapters, but has anyone in here done this with 37's on their TJ? I'm thinking they will rub on everything.

I have a 38 mounted on one rim so I had to crop a pic together... lol ... I definitely know the 38 isn't going to work... was wondering if the 37 might.

@Irun put JL rims on his rig but I think they were 35's not 37's. Most people here will tell you TJ axles won't like you running 37" tires.

Look forward to seeing how it looks once you're done. And yes I think the rims look OK too.

37’s on JK wheels with probably similar backspacing with 2” adapters. They rub pretty good on the control arms and sway bar. I just put them on for test fit, I’m swapping to 65” wide axles over the winter. That should take care of 95% of the rubbing. May still get just a tad at full lock. On stock width axles I wouldn’t go any bigger than 35’s.

Rick,

Did you orient the JT front LCAs the same way they were on the JT?

I ran 37" KO2s on the Jeep when it still had factory (well the mopar version) LCAs with +18mm offset. Stockers are +44. I have the wider Rubicon axle width though.

I assume you are likely a bit closer to the WMS with your axle side CA brackets, want to get a measurement and we can compare?

Cycle your axles without springs right now with 35s and see what you see. Then imagine a 37" tire and whatever effective backspacing change you think will occur.

This is ignoring all the other frequent cautions against 37s on factory axles, and the ignoring of what is generally recommended to run 35s in the first place.

How's he supposed to justify tons without first breaking the 44s?

Rick, What tires are you getting? I was actually toying with tossing adapters and the 37s I have laying around on the Jeep for the winter once the Savvy highlines come in. Not like anyone's going to want the 30 if I break it.

I can waste my time explaining the levels of dumb this plan is. Or I can offer up a very useful method to figure out what is happening with the axles, steering, tires, etc throughout the entire suspension travel that is more revealing than anything he might get from the audience here.

I guess I could have been clearer, I agree with your first statement, that would be a good way to think through what will happen. I was making light of your second.

If my plan is the dumb one, it's only because I'd have to buy another set of 8 lugged adapters to put 40s on it. I do have the 38s on the other Jeep that could use the same adapters though, hmmmm.

There are only so many dumb plans I can keep up with.
