Will a NV1500 work on a 4.0?

Hi, my nv3550 transmission is shot after 235k miles. It needs a full rebuild...bearings and all. I did find a new old stock nv1500/2550 for a great price. Would it work with the 4.0 engine? I don't off road or anything...she basically a weekend cruiser.

While the spline counts for the input and output are the same for these transmissions; the NV2550 is installed in the 2.4L and the NV3550 is installed in the 4.0L.
I have not been able to locate the actual ratings for these transmissions, but I am sure the manufacturers HP/TQ ratings are why NV mated the 2550 with the 2.4L and the 3550 with the 4.0L.
