As a youth in so-cal early 70’s In-N-Out with the drive up on either side and no indoor seating was the bomb. I still like the burgers but what I really like is how clean cut the workers are. Can’t find that at many McD’s.
Not a big fan of the fries either.

Acutally, BK is a LOT better than In-N-Out - at least to my taste buds. I've said it before: In-N-Out is racetrack or fair food. Its not bad, but its not particularly good either. McD's, BK beat them hands down. Carl's Jr. is my fave though.

Maybe we can get a smart guy like @freedom_in_4low to do an engineers analysis on the ideal ratio.

i agree that it's all about the surface area to volume ratio but it's too complex to model analytically.

I tend to believe that potatoes are extremely bland and only eaten as a vehicle for tastier things - almost always salt with various forms of fat and occasionally some of a better tasting plant. I like my hash browns shredded, fries thin, mashed and baked potatoes fully loaded. Thicker fries need to be extra crispy. I don't want to taste any actual potato.

The wife and I had the same opinion of them. I actually thought they were freezer burned, but was told they weren't by some regulars. Never went back after that onetime.

100%! In '98, I had a team mate at Penske from southern CA. He kept bragging up In-n-Out, so when we were out there for the Long Beach Gran Prix, he insisted we go to one. It was my first time. When I wasn't impressed, he was offended. It's just fast food. It's different than the big chains, but it's still mediocre food. In fact, I'd rate their French fries as some of the most bland I've ever had.

When they came to TX, there were long lines of cars waiting to get in for a couple weeks. One was right by my office, and I just shook my head in wonderment at what I could only term "mob mentality at work."

To each his own. If you're an In-n-Out fan, and I've offended you - I apologize. You do you! We can agree to disagree, right? We still have Wrangler TJs to rave about!

Same. They put one in Colorado Springs and it was packed. I never went.

Only time I've been was when in California for work. The very first time out of curiosity, and the second time because it was walking distance from the site and the rest of the group was curious or from California and think it's good.

Then way down at the bottom some person who had an IQ above a single digit posted what I was going to say. Go to a shop that does graphics/ wraps cars.

I see this all the time are people this retarded or do they just don't read the question?
