New Half Doors from GenRight

They look nice but at what cost? Greater than $1,000? I'll go for a set of OEM half doors.

I prefer my OEM half doors, but even the UCF trail doors to these because they are fully closed. Here mud and water is a big factor for running half doors over no doors (beyond the extra security/safety). Also, unless they make them attractively priced then they will be just a beauty product for showing off.

Looks great, but I bet they get smokin hot in the sun😬

They look beautiful but all that comes to mind is the burn marks on your arm and leg...

I guess some might leave them raw but there is such a thing as paint?

Considering stock doors are selling for $800 + anymore. And based on what GR sells other things for I'd guess around $1K

Will have to wait until there is more info & pictures available to know.

I welded a piece just like that for an armrest and they live in the summer heat and seem to be mostly fine. They’ve been hot before but seem to cool off quick when I start to drive.

They’re exactly what I wanted out of an aluminum half door (top is bent to follow the tub and flat top for arm rest, allow a factory upper, handles inside and out, little storage). But when I found my factory half doors on marketplace for 150 it makes it hard to grasp the need for those for maybe a couple lbs saved.

If you could buy factory half doors for $500 or under now then I'd agree but in the past 18-24 months at least out here in the PNW I'm not finding decent doors for under $1K. And that is what full doors used to sell for. And 90% of these half doors I'm seeing being sold either don't have the inner door panels or they are trashed.
If my factory half doors were in good shape I could see buying a set of these for trail doors. But that would also be if my rig was a DD.

I'm just happy to see they are offering a nicer looking door for the TJ now. Not everyone's cup of tea but I'm sure they'll sell a few pairs.

Man, I watched for several years for factory half doors. A set came up for $500 a couple of months ago in N Idaho and I went and snagged them. No dents. Door cards are tan and ugly but Summit apparently coming out with new and maybe I could sell these to recover a bit. Getting prepped and painted soon. They’ll go on Red and the Silver Fox will get the trail doors.

Good find... I wish I'd been smart enough to buy a set of doors years ago... If my stock doors could be repaired (@macleanflood ) seemed to think they could be I'd consider getting a set of trail doors... But I'd have to drive the Jeep on the street more... Guess I could wear out the IRocks on the street...

I just picked up some half doors for $450 here in AZ, the guy even drove up from Tucson for the sale.

I had casually searched for years and saw many around $500 but never had the money at the same time. The seller had sold his Jeep, which i find is a benefit for the buyer. They aren't color matched, but they're rust free & interior panels are in good shape. They were missing the mirrors and upper mounting inserts, but those are cheap and easy to find.

Patience is key folks!

I waited for almost 3 years watching and found my set for $850 CAD (~$613 USD), got like new uppers for $150 more. Half doors in worse condition are regularly $1400 CAD here. I just need to fill some dings along the bottom edge and paint to match.

I do have UCF trail doors too, but they are listed for sale now.

I have the UCF aluminum trail doors; they are still raw aluminum. They do not get hot at all in the sun. The PRP black leather seats are MUCH hotter. I can jump in after the Jeep is setting in the sun and lay my arm on the door wtihout any issues.

I didn’t notice any heat issues with my raw Savvy doors in Moab this year either.

My JCR doors are black and I’ve also never felt like they’d burn me.
