Hi, am new to this forum and it has already been a great help to me. I have a 2005 tj that the gear selector wouldn't go into Park. Used the chopstick solution and it worked! That took some wrinkles off my forehead.
Now I want to purchase a spare electrical connector for the transmission neutral safety switch. However, cannot find a vendor or part number for it. Also, what is the best service manual for a 2005 wrangler tj, 6 cylinder, with automatic transmission? Thanks to all of you.

Service manuals can be found in the Resources section of this forum. There are also parts lists & exlploded diagrams. For the pigtail, you might check RockAuto, I've found some pigtails there. But does the 42RLE have a separate NSS, or is it part of the larger umbilical?

Sorry for the delay for my response. I thought it was the three wire pigtail but not sure now. It will be a few days until I get under and check. Thanks for your reply and help.

Greetings. It appears the NSS wiring is in the TRS harness. How would I bypass the TRS connector if it failed? I assume i would short pin 10 to ground but not sure of the other pins. Thanks.

Your best, easiest way may be to try a used one off of ebay or Davey's Jeeps.

Is the TRS connector the “big” plug? Are there multiples that plug into the trans? I don’t know a ton about the 42RLE.

Guess I don't know what the 'big' plug refers to. Found a replacement at Rockauto. Thanks.

Since you didn’t give a link I googled that part #. Looks to be a throttle position sensor?
