Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

I have not done personal testing either. Though I can say I've seen a few Genright aluminum front bumpers not hold up to a not so hard hit. Seems like it likes to "tear" quite easy after a few hits.

I have also personally seen a GR bumper tear open after a light drag over a rock.

Edit-the same bumper above

Those liners were a massive pain to fit. So much shit in the way with the diesel. They don't document any of it except the washer bottle. I ordered their suggested replacement and it still didn't fit. But all the work just resulted in a huge increase in clearance. And they do look pretty good.

Thank you!
Weird, but this is the first email address I used in a list of many with no response. I’ve forwarded it to Gman again 🤪

That email was just sent to me this week to contact him because I got an email with a discount code for free shipping that I tried to use on a cable shifter, but the discount code didn't work because it was an OG Savvy product. 🙄

I got one like that, but just gave up and decide to wait and see if they have a sale. Let me know if they send you a working code, I could use a set of front uppers.

Would you believe it, maybe 5mins after posting here, I receive a message from a different Savvy mail account saying they messaged me, but it kept bouncing back.
So Gerald called me and explained that for unknown reasons he has trouble answering emails to Gmail accounts.

When I picked up my new to me 241 transfer case few weeks back I called Savvy and left a voicemail. 5 minutes later Gerald called me back and sold me the bracket and “fitting” I need to adapt my 231 shifter cable to the 241 for $30 shipped. I paypalled him right then and received my parts almost as fast as when I order from Black Magic Brakes or Wizard Recovery Gear. 🇺🇸

What's y'alls opinion with the new savvy ca's?
It has "narrow" jhonny joints for more misalignment, only thinking about buying then cause they're 15% off not the OG savvy stuff tho...
But not too sure if I should just stick with the OG savvy stuff.....Opinions? Apart from price?

I believe the narrow joint is to make up for the lack of misalignment from the RK joint on the other end. The bigger joints I believe the body would hit the bracket mount and is why there needs to be one on either end. I am unsure of the strength comparison of the narrow joint to the full body joint. I'm also unsure of the quality and strength of the RK joint. I do know that the older arms are good and have strong, reputable, big johnny joints in them that have more than enough misalignment for our use.

You have no use for more misalignment.

My core 4x4 arms had narrow joints and they weren't good. They aren't the same design as the real JJs

Thank you for the clarification!
I already figured since I've never heard of any complaints on any lack of misalignment on the original Savvy arms
Turns out these new control arms have Rock Krawler joints on the frame side,Don't know the longterm reputation of em but I'd rather not know
OG Savvy CA's it is.

The same reason metalcloak's advertising is misleading. They started they have the most misalignment out of any joint but it doesn't matter when you can only use some of it, not all of it.
Same type of answer we get about bolt circles on wheels. The anti-TJ crowd was fond of saying that the old CJ pattern of 5 on 5.5 is much stronger. That is the answer to the wrong question. The right question is if 5 on 4.5" bolt circle is strong enough and time has proven that it is more than.

Doesn't matter how much misalignment a joint has as long as it is enough.

The three bolts holding the entire wheel and brake assembly to the steering knuckle is also enough.
