Beyond the fact that so much of the image looks all warbled (something that seems to be a common denominator in poorly executed AI images)

I think @Squatch is referring to the mottled effect of image compression - which, incidentally, @Wildman likely can't see on his phone's small display. Stick around for the next "WTF Talks" session where @Zorba will extol the many virtues of smartphone displays and the technology as a whole...;) Anyway, compression is common on poorly produced human images and for some reason, very common on most of the Ai images I've seen.

The devil is in the details, as they say, and it is for Ai images as well. Ai seems to have issues with the details at the moment. Badges, registration plates and tire sidewall lettering are typically distorted or garbled in some way (these are the easiest to find and the first place I look), though Ai is definitely improving here (as it's designed to :cautious:). Details such as those noted in @Squatch's post, things car guys and brand whores will see but the average "I want to get from here to there and don't give a shit how" people won't, that's the gold of Ai image forensics. (y)

I'll say this, the TJ Jeep is still a pretty damn good Jeep, in spite of Chrysler's best efforts to fuck it up. I say that in jest, kind of.

If we were, as @ColoJeep noted in previous post, doing it properly as car guys (in person with refreshing beverage of choice in hand, laughing, pointing, debating and gesturing like excited Italians pleading our cases), I'd love to walk you around Tess and point out all of the intentionally cut corners (many of which have the potential to lead to problems later on) that saved/made them a buttload of money. I'm not saying other manufacturers don't play the game, but there was a period with the pentastar, starting right about the time one Lee Iacocca entered the picture where it became remarkable. To be clear, I'm not blaming him, but they were forced to cut costs hard at that time and just never really stopped the process. I'm all for efficiency, but when it affects the end product, I tend to call the ball.

I'm with you, and the price didn't seem out of line based on the listing and photos, either. I suspect it might have made a really nice daily driver. Not surprisingly, it appears all three have been sold.

But as of 59 year old with right foot issues, I have to admit I’d like it even more with a V8.

I understand completely, but that's the very reason I tend to go for the I-6 in the end. ;) Besides, you can go pretty damn quickly and kill yourself just as fast in something like this...and it's only a 4 pot! But what a way to go!

The 6 cyl cars are usually 10k$ less than the v8 cars.

Everyone needs one of these. If you've never seen or even heard of one, I encourage you to look it up. It's a Mohs Safarikar. The entire car is covered in Naugahyde (harvested from a herd of Naughas!). ;) There were only three prototypes ever built (and we can all be thankful for that!).

And if that wasn't weird enough for you, then take a gander at the Mohs Ostentatienne Opera Sedan, a one-of one vehicle. This little (???) jewel was built before the Safarikars were.

Door design seemed to be a struggle ! It seems just right that cars this weird would be built on a Binder chassis.
 
I quite like the CJ-6, one of the reasons I went with the Unlimited. That said, I've never actually seen one in the flesh, rare birds.

Though I'll grant you, they work better with just the bimini top or nothing at all...

I think the full door cutouts as well as the extra length in hood/cowl help balance the LJ a bit, though I know there are many who think they look odd, too (at least without a lift).
 
Question: Why does Fire Marshall Bill's ride not have the gas filler neck in the location that the others have? Seems like in the production of those body panels, all would have been the same. 🤔 On the first two, they appear to have a flange that would indicate an insert, while the third one almost appears to have been molded in (ie: a "customized" addition). That would almost lead me to believe that they are initially produced as the fourth picture represents, but then get the hole stamped out for the addition of the filler neck insert. 🤷‍♂️

I 've seen a few , it is easy to see how they built the body. so ugly they're way Cool. I would want one with new style D - 44 axles , SM - 420 4 spd. , and just to be different a Wildcat 465 Buick nailhead. Oh well it's nice to have a snowy afternoon delusion with my car guys !
 
I don't know who the "we" are but I can't tell what was worse with that year, the grille snout sticking out so much farther than the headlights, most of the hood being a giant hood scoop with huge ugly rectangular openings, or the total combination.

While I don't believe that any of the things you pointed out are ugly, I do agree that the ones you posted are better looking. I prefer the '70, myself.

My guess would be model year change ending in Fire Marshall Bill's final version . The late model didn't have shoulder belts or air bags but they did make it so you didn't sit on the gas tank ! :LOL:

If I'm being honest, for the wheelbase, I'd have a CJ-8 over a 6... :p

Good choice , I like the Scrambler CJ-8 , the rear overhang looks longer than it is. What's odd is a post 72 CJ - 6 has 1/2 " longer wheelbase than the CJ - 8 .

Save for an old 2 or 3, the CJ-8 is probably my favorite. :)

And I don't mind saying the color and stripes on the one I posted would do me just fine as well. Sharp and classic.

Here's an early CJ - 6 tuxedo park with a half cab.
