Car pics too cool not to share

Well , not really , The Cameo came out in 55 , but it was a fiberglass outer cap installed on a step side bed. The first All steel fleetside beds with inner fenders was a 58.

Yeah, I wasn't considering the Cameo at all, as it's a different animal, altogether. Originally, I thought the '58 was the first year for the Fleetside, but then I decided to look into the '55-'57 to either confirm or dispel my assumptions. What I found were a whole bunch of pics of fairly stock appearing '55-'57s with Fleetside beds. I avoided considering obviously "rodded" trucks, as it would be easy enough to do a box-swap for the aesthetics. But I did find what appeared to be stock '55-'57s with the Fleetside beds, so without delving any further into it, I assumed that I was wrong in my "knowledge" of the '58 being the first year. So now, as I stand here corrected, I'll go back to believing what I originally thought to be true (same as you, of course, twin...;)), and agree that the '58 was the first year for the box change. Thanks for setting me straight! :)

Using up every can of flat black paint that he could find in his garage is the biggest thing I have against it. Wouldn't mind seeing it with a little bit of refinement applied to the finished product.

I'm going to venture a guess that someone at some point in history got some because they had the "Del Rey Sky Lounge", and quite possibly got it in the Del Rey Sky Lounge as well... :sneaky:

The FUNNY things we used to do... Screwdriver holding the choke door open when trying to start your rig when it's warm...

All the manual choke kits that were sold because the automatic choke didn't work...

I can remember a lot of other hokey shit we did way back when... Or when the emission crap first started showing up on stuff. All the vacuum hoses that we'd plug off or stuff removed... Sort of like diesels now.
 
Unless something has changed, it's too much fencing for Laguna, and they're going the wrong direction.

I think your thinking was correct from what I can find.
