My radiator has cracked on the top. If you had to buy one today, what would you buy? Obviously, I looked for a Mopar, but I can’t find one. I’m considering either a Champion or Denso. Any other ones that I should look at?

I opted for a Murray from the local automparts store. Lifetime warranty and store is close by if I ever have to use the warranty. I live in Phoenix where summer temperatures are 115+ and the coolant temp stays right around 200 in rush hour traffic with the AC on.

I have several hunting scopes made in Japan. They are all top notch scopes.

Japanese optical lens manufacturers are highly regarded as some of the best in the world (think old Colt scope for the M16). In general, safe to approach most serious Japanese goods as quality, they tend to be sticklers for detail, precision, use of technology and general efficiency.

Denso. Installed one almost two years ago, no issues to date.

How long has it been in use? Tons of miles as a daily driver or weekend toy?

I know nothing about Murray radiators so don't take this as anything more than wondering about them.

I put a Denso in my 1999 Silverado a couple years ago and have had no issues with it. That OEM radiator lasted 23 years!

I would use a Denso in my TJ if I needed one.

That's why I use Denso parts when available for my TJ. My Toyotas and Scion only use Denso parts, IF they're made in Japan. Nothing worse than buying a Toyota made in the USA. It defeats the purpose.

Yep agree. I coughed out a pretty penny for all Denso parts for my MR2 build instead of aftermarket but you can't really beat Toyota reliability

I would strongly recommend the CSF 2578. it is made entirely of copper and brass, so it can be trail repaired easily.

Ive been running it for over a year and it's been great. around 200 bucks on rockauto ROCK AUTO CSF 2578

I already ordered the Denso this morning, but thank you for the input.

5 1/2 years and 12,000 miles, partial daily driver and Arizona trail runner. I don’t drive “tons of miles” on any of my vehicles - I log around 4500 miles a year total, which is split among several vehicles.

I have a 2005 4.0 RME Manual. The aftermarket Radiator units don't seem to differentiate between Auto or Manual application, but the OE Mopar does, so I'm guessing the difference is all the aftermarket have the integral auto Transmission fluid cooler that's just not used if you have a MT ?

FWIW, Denso is a Toyota OEM but not for Land Cruisers. They use ToyoRad, also Japanese made, at least for the 40, 60, 70, 80, through the 100 series. Don't know about later... Anyone used the Koyorad listed on Rockauto?

Don't have a radiator issue now, but just looking for more parts to hoard. :sneaky:
