Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

We got about 7” of snow yesterday so I spent the day chauffeuring people around. These old jeeps are hard to beat in the snow especially in a manual transmission equipped one. I love the fact that there’s no ABS or traction control. Driving the wife’s 2020 renegade is nice but it kinda sucks in the snow. Maybe the next set of tires I put on it will be a little more aggressive.

My wife has been in my Jeep yet, terrified, but when I had it in street today, she said “there’s my Jeep”

Got my chill spot back, can angle Jeep in more, ready to start tearing into t-case this weekend. Hopefully Woodrow still has his t-case when I get some cash soon. New fire up Lake Castiac area, one of my favorite local fishing spots Homes and businesses being evacuated now 5 freeway shutdown

I just read the fire near me a few months ago was started by someone setting their house on fire to spite their insurance company?? Fuckin insane. Stay safe (you and your house)

That’s an awesome pic

I should have taken pics but I’m sure we all know how it goes, you get elbow deep into a project and excited to get things out back together and realize after you didn’t take pics. Oh well

Changed:
Front differential fluid
Rear differential fluid
Oil
Rear driveshaft u joints
Installed new TCM from @Wranglerfix - fixed my slipping issue from 3-4 as well as rough idle. Jeep is running smoooooth!

My 02 has been squeaking for a while. Took it to a shop to get it inspected and all the bushings were dry rotted or totally non existent. No wonder it drove like crap lol. So I ended up getting a whole new lift kit with control arms, new steering kit, new u joints, etc.

Picked it up a couple days ago so I spent today riding around enjoying all the $$$ I just spent. 😏💀

This time I’ll do a much better job of maintaining everything.

Removed the storage drawer the previous owner had installed and put in an exceptionally nice junk yard back seat, as my kids have decided they now want to come with me on some easier trails (still waiting on replacement seatbelts to be delivered, though).

I also installed a Walker Quietflow exhaust to tame the excess noise (and awful drone) the previous aftermarket exhaust emitted.

Those seats look NICE!

The front seats aren't anywhere near as nice as that back seat - the front passenger seat looks much nicer in the photo than it really is. That junkyard back seat is possibly the nicest thing in my Jeep that isn't drivetrain- or suspension-related. ;) :ROFLMAO:

I love the early TJ seat fabric styling! It looks so good even when dirty. Mine are the tan style and I can't bring myself to buy covers for them

I do enjoy the wilder fabric choices, just like I enjoyed the solid red/blue/brown interiors of 80s and early-90s GM and Ford vehicles, but the green and tan Sahara seats are at the very top of my all-time favorites.

Interesting! I think they're boring comparatively. I always thought it was funny that the special trim got the "boring" seats (to me). Other than the seats though a white Sahara is my favorite TJ style!

I've never seen interiors of those older trucks that I remember... Had a Pathfinder though that was red, red, red, everything was red inside and out lol.

Yeah, they were like your Pathfinder - if you had a red interior, EVERYTHING was red. Same if you had blue or brown. But if you had the right trims, they also had designs in the seats that complimented the color choice. I had a early 90s GM truck that had the red interior with seats that had tiny white horizontal stripes in the middle of the seats. It was an interesting choice, and most would consider it ugly today, but at least it had character. The seats in my TJ definitely fall into that "character" category and I greatly enjoy it.

Red everywhere! I like it alot, I like color in cars. I actually am not the biggest fan of white or black cars, just a little boring for me. Always surprises me how much I like the white Sahara because of that.

Charecter is a good way to put it, and something that is lacking in newer cars. Something where it's more than just appliance, love it or hate it..

I’m a fan of the Spice color that are Vinyl on the YJ’s. No stains and you can just hose them off to clean.

Yep, exactly like that. They were super comfortable too.

My first brand new vehicle was a black ‘91 Silverado with that interior, except mine had the bench seat. I loved it.

Funny you mention the Sahara seats because when I first laid eyes on the 2002 Sahara that I bought, the first thing I said is I got to find covers for these. Needless to say they grew on me and now I love the color. It just works.

I'm a fan of quirky or flawed vehicles, as it gives them a personality all their own. The Sahara green interior may be garish for some, but I think it's just another bit of quirk that adds to the already quirky character of the TJs.
