Im seriously thinking of going back to the factory flairs on my wife's Jeep. I like the look of the wheel well being filled out. I live in Florida and as far as the tire making contact with anything I don't see that happening, Florida is pretty flat and other than crossing a ditch or culvert I don't think ill have a problem. Thoughts always welcome.

Looks good now but personally, I do like the factory fender look unless you are going to need the clearance for heavy duty trail/rock climbing.

What kind of rack do you have on top?

Another vote for stock flares over those that are on it now... i will be doing the same swap back to stock flares on my rig this spring.

 Where were you when I was trying to identify those fenders??

If you don't need the clearance, I too like the looks of the stock fenders.

Clearance for what? The tires go inside of the plastic flares. If that's an issue, Rubi flares are 1" wider.

Those flares don’t give any more clearance than stock flares. The limit is the steel fender. If you look at the outer edge there’s a seam. That’s where the tire will hit first if it’s not bump stopped correctly.

I think I want to go to bigger fender flare for the simple reason my tires fling so much mess off the road (let alone trails) that the windows and mirrors get so dirty I can't see out of them after short while.

Where I'm located they use a lovely mix of sand and salt to blast the paint off anything and then a nice brine to rust it out. I was thinking wider flare may help to contain that mess in the winter and the rest of the time, contain the mess.

When I bought my first jeep it had those Bushwacker style flares on it, I removed them and replaced them with stock, I liked the appearance much better. Now that I have a Rubicon, I like those flares even better. View attachment 587171View attachment 587173View attachment 587174

Love that, fingers crossed luck will smile upon me for a set of Black Painted Sahara flares for a cheap cost!
