Alright guys I have a 98 TJ 4.0 online 6.
About a month ago I noticed the Jeep was overheating while driving back from Atlanta. Pulled over and got out and saw coolant pouring from the radiator. I tried to tighten the petcock valve and then it started pouring and spewing out. I bought a new petcock valve but the threads aren't as long as the OEM part. How do I get the piece that the petcock screws into out of the radiator???

Looks like a piece is broke off?

The guy I bought it from two years ago never mentioned replacing the radiator.

CORRECTION: he did replace the radiator

Aha maybe that will point you in the right direction? I'm not an expert on radiator varieties, just going off the pic of the petcock that didn't look broken

I just shot him a FB message and he said he doesn’t remember the brand radiator. I would think the part that the petcock screws into would just come out

I think the piece in question has 2 ears. Try pinching where the small slots are with needle nose pliers and see if it comes out.

Edit...be careful not to break it if it does not.

I’ll try that tomorrow. I’m having to replace the power steering pump in my truck too. 2025 is off to a wonderful start
