Hey guys, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
2001 Jeep TJ 4.0, has what I believe to be an old RC 3" lift, and 33x12.5 tires.
Front coils measure 15" and the rears are sitting around 11 1/2-11 3/4". So based on the coil spring charts I have seen, this could have been a 4" lift originally and has settled, or the kit was just designed to have a rake; no biggie either way for me. Naturally it has a bit of a rake to the front end which I want to get rid of simply for aesthetics. I replaced the worn out shocks with Rancho RS55239 (Front) and RS55241 (rear) and also installed an adjustable track bar to better center the front axle. Ride quality seems fine, although I don't any have other Jeep experience to reference, and I do not off road. Basically just a weekend ride for me at this point. I jacked up the front end 1" and it gives me the look I want, so I was considering an 1" aluminum coil spacer up front. I guess my main question is: Aluminum preferred over rubber/polymer? Any reason to definitely not do this? Don't really want to chase coil spring heights, i.e.) buy 4 new springs, install, still end up with a rake, still have to opt for a spacer to level it out etc.
Appreciate the feedback!
