Turn signal and brake light woes

Suddenly my turn and brake lights on my 2005 TJ quit working. Running lights are ok. Fuse number 27 (MFSW) keeps blowing. So I purchase this
Multifunction switch
from Amazon along with a new flasher relay
Relay
First thing I noticed when installing was the relay took lots of muscle to get it maybe ~75% inserted. Same with old relay. So, I plug all back in, rehook up the battery and the blinkers work. Then I depress the emergency flasher button and poof goes the same fuse. Any thoughts? Did Amazon send me the wrong part? Or what?.. any guidance appreciated!

Yep that connection is pretty cooked! Is there a kit to fix? Or what do I do now? Was this a result of LED taillights I installed?

Yesterday I spent a good deal of time installing a new MFS switch, a new flasher cube AND a new new MFS connector. I spent most of the time with the connector and triple checked order of wires , etc. MFS FUSE STILL BLOWS. Ugggh! Are there any common weak links between the switch and the fuse I should check? Any help deeply appreciated!

Test your clock spring, perhaps? Or unplug it.

I'd pull all your bulbs...turn signal, tail lights, unplug the headlights.

I don’t suppose you have a trailer harness wired into the parking/turn signals ?
They have been known to cause problems similar to what you describe.

I’ve never used it, but YES I do! Wonder if I can just snip it all out without totally messing things up? Previous owner towed a small trailer to rock crawling events. Still had some device wired up that was screwed to lower dash, it was in way of my leg room , so just yesterday I unscrewed it and zip tied it further back. This move was after I discovered the blinkers and brake lights not working, so the move didn’t cause it.
Again, wondering if I can just snip it out , or if some wires would need to be reconnected?
