Changing from OEM one hole , to 4 hole injectors. What have i learned? In short:
If it aint broke, don’t fix it
Well, i bought them of EBAY, bosch( for 0280150965) .. what happened? The car might have felt a bit spicier, for a day( test drove a few hundred feet).
Day two, got about the same diastance from the house, had a misfire, engine went rough and straight in to limp mode.
Got home, swapped all four injectors ( i bought an eight pack) , drove around for a while, no issues, but check engine still on. Felt like i could smell from the exhaust that it was running rich, so swapped in the originals, disconnected battery for a few minutes and started back up. Let it idle for about ten minutes, light did not come back.
Fingers crossed it stayes that way. ( just came home from a 10mile ish drive. Still off)
Looking at the new injectors and comparing them to the old ones, they seem a bit longer, were WAY easier to get into the fuel rail then oem and but did not “ pop in” into the engine side of things.
Spec bosch
43,5 psi, 21lb pr hours, 159g per min.
I belive the oem is same psi, hig lb and g per min.
Might put the last four i had in, back in to see if I can see a difference in the torque plus app; oem vs new, or maybe the issue was with one of the four first ones i had in, who knows.
Anyhows,
lesson learned. ( almost)
