Toby Keith died

That song reminded me of an old neighbor of mine, Jasper. He was in his 80s when I was a kid. He was always doing something, usually outside, something like hoeing a small garden or even digging a ditch. He stayed on the go, not very fast but always moving, and he even managed to wear out two artificial knees. One hot summer day he was doing something in the ditch. My dad offered to finish the job for him while he sat in the shade, but Jasper said "no, at my age if you sit in one place too long they bury you", and he kept working.

Dunno if this is his Jeep.

My daughter recommended Toby Keith to me years ago and I liked his music. He was a nice bridge into country music for me, having grown up listening to classic rock. I was lucky enough to see him a few times in concert and first saw Toby about a decade ago in 2013. It was a beautiful Saturday, both sunny and warm. My kids were both young adults back then and they invited their folks. My wife and I were really excited to get to hang out with the kids. There was a large group with us and everyone was having a great time. We arrived early for tailgating and had some good food and cold beverages, served of course in red solo cups. Toby put on a great concert and it was one of those days that you really didn’t want to end. Looking back on all of my years of concerts and this one is still a favorite.
