What did you do to your TJ today?

I appreciate your time and suggestions, however this holder is rated for a max of 300A.
I didn't notice that you're using a 500A fuse. I was surprised to see from your picture that Littelfuse makes Mega/AMG fuses bigger than 300A. I ended up using ANL fuses instead, because they were available all the way up to 750A. Anyway, I found this Mega/AMG holder rated for 500A, and it's made by Bussmann, so it should be good quality:

Incidentally, I found conflicting ratings on that holder, but this is direct from the Bussmann catalog, showing 500A capacity:

Thanks for your help. I ended up buying this one:

Blue Sea Systems 5503 ANL 35A to 750A Fuse Block with Insulating Cover, 7.0'' x 2.0''

I like that it has separate terminals for the fuse and the cables.

Thanks to you all for your feedback and especially to MountaineerTom for his advice.

I'll post some pics when I get it installed.

Finished installing the butt heater... Amazon only sent me one and spent two weeks arguing with the seller. Got my money back instead of another Dorman unit.

Things I would have liked to have known...no illumination light on the switch...so it's dark. Might run a single green or white led between the switches wired to illumination...they make 1/8" plastic holders that are perfect. Low mode the switch has a green led, high mode the led turns red. Draws 5.8a on high and around 1.8a on low. Wired mine straight to battery so when everything goes wrong in the snow I'm at least warm. Deep cycle battery for the win. Out of fuses on my little extra panel. Might steal the fuse panel from the hacked up 2000 harness...looks like just enough room to mount them side by side under the dash.

P.S. picture of where I hid my CB and GMRS behind the dash.

That holder won't work with the fuse you have. You have a Mega or AMG fuse in place now, but that holder is for an ANL fuse. They have different center distances (drawings are from Blue Sea Systems web site):

To use that one, you'll need to buy a 500A ANL fuse. This is a good read on the differences between the two fuse types:

What’s all the white spots all over the cowl and windshield frame😵‍💫?? Just last week I stated how clean your rig always is, and now this????
Now if you lived closer to Covington or Milboro Springs I would understand, but gheeeezz.

Those are dried Texas bug guts that the PO didn't clean off. I have some flame red 3M vinyl to wrap it. Repainting quote was way too expensive.

i dont know if that non illumination will bother you much- try it out first-I think a blind reach you will intuitively locate and can flick on - red for hot/green for not so much

I took my Jeep out on the freeway last night. I noticed that the oil pressure was going all over the place. Pretty regularly moving from 40 to maxing out at 80. It would hit 80 for about a minute and then go back down. I did replace the oil sending unit a few months ago. I also did an oil change a few weeks ago.

Should I be worried about this at all? Should I replace the OSU or anything like that?

Mine does that too...new Melling normal volume oil pump and a new Mopar oil pressure sensor. Mostly does it when it's cold and the oil is thick. Soon as it warms up it's back to 40ish normal. Doesn't do it near as much when it's in the 90s.

I'm not worried. And this is why after 97 they turned the gauge into a dummy gauge...not true oil pressure.

Hosed the Jeep off after a little Forest Service road driving Sunday. I really need fender flares. Might find some black milk jug plastic sheets and make some that can come on and off easily.

I used mud flaps flipped, riveted, and the fit works quite well for the front. Till I can reason spending the $ on new genright flares..

Welp I had to work today at my job, left early and cause of that I couldn't get the jeep fully assembled and running but for the meantime I slapped on the exhaust manifolds on,intake, alternator, water, pump

So she looks like she got an engine now💪🏽

Ate dinner slapped on the rest of the stuff including the MORE bombproof motor mount bushings which were kinda tricky to put on but it only took me 15 minutes😁......helps that the front clip is off 😅

This is beautiful

That's normal for the old style oil pressure gauge. All my 98-2001' Jeeps all did that. The 4.0L Normal Oil Pressure warm 13psi @ 600rpm. Normal range @ greater than 1600rpm 37-75psi.

The Mighty TJ got new tires. I went from 33x12.50R15 MT to 33x10.50R15 AT. I decided to live on the wild side, defy convention, and put the white side walls out on the new tires. I'm sure I shall be counseled by the tire "experts" for my heresy. Oh well, I have thick skin ...

Finally made the decision to be a little more modern with a updated radio nav. system.. Crutchfield… really like the whole thing from this company

All I saw was @AndyG inspired ducks everywhere.
p.s. I like checking out the Crutchfield store for new products. It's only 2 miles from my house.

Looks good. Do you notice any difference with the narrower tires? I'm thinking about going back to stock wheels and 10.5" wide tires.
