Anybody up for a random meme dump?

Plastic glasses. I'm a lifelong nerd myself, but wouldn't be caught dead wearing glasses like that.

I was in the Navy and had just finished ET A school and was going overseas. Everyone on the crew had to get a 'pre-deployment' physical. They tested my eyes and ask me how many pairs of glasses I have. I said, "One." They gave me six pairs just like those, except they were gray (yes, Navy gray.) Best girl repellant ever made. Got a copy of the prescription and went down to the civilian optometrist and got another pair of wire frame (it was 1969) glasses. Never lost the original pair.

The air Force called them BC glasses.

BC for Birth Control.

They were dull black and I think I still have my pair somewhere.

Just thinking about them makes me want to boot up a Linux virtual machine :D

Elliott Gould wore them with pride in the Oceans Eleven, Twelve, etc. series!

Yea, about 1969 is when those damn plastic atrocities went out of style last time, some things just never should ever come back. Not into the Buddy Holly look. But wire frames are now in a very small minority at any optometrist's office.

I had to wear those fugly things when I was in grade school, got wires as soon as my parents would let me. Of course, they had the opposite reaction - they had wires when they were kids I guess, so didn't like them.
