The Skyliner name was used for the "glass top" in '54 (it's actually acrylic), and then again in the Crown Victoria in '56. Strangely enough, the '55 was referred to as a "Transparent Top", and not a Skyliner. Weird.

In '57, '58, and '59, the Skyliner referred to the models with a retractable hardtop. The standard convertible was called the Sunliner from 1952, all the way up to '64. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they dropped that name by '65. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken on that.

By the way, that trim for the two-tone treatment at the top of the doors and back is from a '55/'56 Mercury Montclair. It's a very popular custom treatment.
