What did you do to your TJ today?

Nothing interesting, as usual. Went shopping for some metric screws and aluminum for backing plates to do some relocating on my roof rack. I got some quick fists, but I need to put them inline with the T-slots - so figured I would put foot plates on them to distribute the load. Sadly, store was missing the 2 slides that would have contained the screws I needed - so ordered them on Amazon.

Been working on this for way too long, just needed the inspiration on how to make it all work. Hopefully in a week or so I will get some pictures of what I have been working on for about 14 months. From the beggining, part of my Jeeps job was going to be a kayak carring toad. Ordered the kayak last July. It came in this last March. Meanwhile, parts for the kayak carrier took forever to get in, I think I finnally got them in July. Sadly, things just did not fit well. Finally got inspiration on a different directly last weekend. While it will make setting up the roof a bit more difficult, it will make room for the Hullivator.

FWIW, the kayak is color matched to my Jeep... A bit of excess I could not resist.

I'd stay at the Great Crack longer. But you may win big at Vegas. :) I wanted to take a donkey ride to the bottom but my wife couldn't get within 20 yards of the edge.

If Covid gets you stuck here in the states, come by, I have some 1 inch thick steaks I'll toss on the grill.

Careful I may fake a covid sickness 🤔 lol

I’d love to have stayed in Arizona longer but I have to a few people on this trip to keep happy

Changed spark plugs and wires. Used Autolite platinum tipped and NKG wires. All were correctly gapped to .035 out of the box. All the old ones were between .045 and .050, so not terrible.

Seems to run a bit smoother and better throttle response, but that could be confirmation bias.

Fuel filter check valve combo, No more Crankasaurus Rex, I could almost hear my starter say, ‘thank you’… Was gonna drop the tank but kicked over some aluminium plate as I went to grab my jack, it was a sign… Drill slow and careful, jigsaw, square, nutserts, and black silicon. Waay easier than dropping the tank, no risk of stressed hoses either.
And next time even easier.

How large is the hole you cut? What did you use to align the hole with the pump? I wanted to install one of the access panels but did not want to spend the money. This looks like something even I could do. ;)

Replaced the rear axle bearing/seals on the 97, Dana 44 w/drums. I have a passion for making great video content.........I just really suck at it. The guys who make great content are artists. If you've never tried it, you can't imagine how much work goes into producing finely polished output. Lighting, camera positioning, knowing exactly how you want it to go before you start rolling tape, etc. If you've ever said "they make HOW MUCH money doing YouTube?!?!" just know that they're actually making money on their videography skills (and also the algorithm).

Like and subscribe to my shite. Diddle that notification bell while you are at it.

My Jeep needs that YT money.

Reactions: Kiwi TJ and hear
Mounted and balanced new 32x11.50-15 Kumho MT51s for the TJ. Easiest tires I ever mounted, but they are heavy. They also balanced very nicely, 2 took no weight at all. They are just a bit louder than the 31" K02s I had before on the freeway. My speedo is reading right on now too (aftermarket 4.10 gears). Can't wait to try them off road!
