97 TJ. Banks headers. One CAT and it's next to the transmission.

My down pipe/mid pipe is making contact with my front driveshaft. I looked the exhaust and jacked up on the passenger side and tightened things down and probably got an 1/8" of clearance.

I'd like to have more. I want to add an expansion joint as it wraps around the front, and a v band clamp just under the skid plate...then wrap the pipe in DEI exhaust wrap to maybe keep a little heat out of the oil and floor.

I eventually plan on doing a 1" body lift and brown dog 1" lift motor mounts and probably a UCF aluminum flat belly pan.

I bought a walker mid pipe. I don't think it solves my clearance issues and I don't like the bends.

So...build, buy or wait...

Should I live with it until after I flat bottom the Jeep? I think everything will go up an inch so my thought is go for it now.

Is there a mid pipe commercially available that kicks passenger a half inch or more straight down from the donut flange for the headers?

Totally down with welding my own. I'll probably get a hardwire roll of stainless for my MIG...would love to TIG, don't have the right toys.

Anyone have a good source for stainless parts? The flange and a mandrel bent builder kit? I think this is 2".

Or behind door number four...am I just being an idiot and should I throw a turbo on here and put 5 psi of boost down the intake? =) Then I'd really need TIG and caps to fill the pipes with gas to prevent sugaring.

Is that elbow corner an inner and outter casing and maybe I can remove the outter for more clearance?

Are we all chasing heat issues this summer?

My heat issues are with the ambient temps being over 110 for the past 30+ days.

The TJ is running fine in these temps with no issues at all.

You running a head shield on your injectors?

Guessing that's all I really needed...just wanted to get the damn exhaust off the driveshaft...my way... complete overkill.

I would wait till you change the mounts and skids as the exhaust will move up. I just did my tail pipe after the shock outboard and track bar mod.
I used some u bends from speedway auto. They are a good supplier. Cut, fit and weld where ever you want the pipe to go.
