What did you do to your TJ today?

I wanted to assemble the half doors that were restored and painted recently, but it's just too damn hot. This string of 100°F+ days is starting to take its toll on my shop time - I'm no macleanflood, that's for sure!

I realized that I could assemble the half-doors on my kitchen table, in the cool air-conditioned comfort! Last night I got them reassembled, sans hinges. This weekend, I hope to fit them to the tub, install the Bull Dawg uppers, and check half-doors off the list.

Made a bulkhead under the Hooke Road cargo tray to separate jeep dog space from cargo space.

Cracked my radiator…Been on the road since Friday, took the jeep to get groceries 1mi round trip. Parked and smelled something….sucks but better this than on the road with the kids. Adding insult to injury, after I re did my flush + new hoses 2 weeks ago.

Interesting, mine cracked a while after I had flushed mine.

If it was going to crack, I’d think it would have been in the preceding two weeks with 10+hrs of drive time and AC in the 90+ heat, not on a literal milk run.

Oh well, I’ll pull it and put in my spare Mopar water pump while I hope weareMopar fulfills my order.

A couple days after I got my new jeep the radiator cracked About the same place as yours… had enough Time to whip into advanced auto and picked this stuff up to get me home… did the repair in the parking lot let it sit an hour and drove home… got my new radiator the next day and replaced it… just for shits and giggles I pressurized the repaired tank and it held till I released the pressure… very impressed…I’ve got the stuff in my emergency kit now!

Summer night rides- I do this most every clear night in summer to relieve stress. I pick one song a night. Last night it was “Limelight” by Rush.

I bit off all I could chew this year as far as a work load.....and stress and pressure is the price you pay. I have often said success is not much easier than failure....you just get leather seats. Or maybe Bartacts in our case.

Tonights’ song is Feelin’ Satisfied by Boston.

I also got a package- while I don’t think the Rampage tops are the be all end all of quality, for the guy who likes topless excursions and needs versatility and simplicity it fits the bill.

Let me know what you think of it when you’ve got time… I’m looking at getting a frameless top… with the new TJ I’ve got a hardtop and no frame for a soft top… I’m thinking the Frameless top might be the best play… those summer night drive are just no the same with a hardtop on…

I do the same thing, although our choices in music may be slightly different. Last night was "Zombified" and tonight will be "Voices in my head."
