Utah Moab June Fest 2023 Week of June 11th

Rewatching that it reminded me a lot more of mine than I remember.

I just re-watched yours and they were remarkably similar lines. We both made two approaches because we started too far passenger. We both tried to stay passenger. I think I was a little more driver than you in the hole. We both lifted the rear passenger tire. Very similar entry, exit, and execution. Cool to watch someone else do virtually the same line.

I didn't remember you having any issues so it did make me feel a bit better that I wasn't the only one. Makes me want to try it again.

There were lots of people there when Daniel and I were at the Escalator. One of them came up after and said several people were saying, "No way, that's wrong," and a guy who led tours of Hells Revenge said, "No, he's right on the line." I can't hear it in the video, but that's what I was told. I'd learned by watching a 72 yr old guy back in 2018. I'd never tried it though till this year. I'm digging up his video now. TJR on 32's with a 2" tuck. Can't get the video to load on YT, so here's the series of key moments. He was a bit too far driver at first but was able to back up once and go through. Hopefully this will encourage some of the smaller builds to try in the future.

Here’s what I was thinking of, this is also very similarly done.

Are you shitting me? I didn't even realise this was going on. We were on a family trip to Yellowstone and spent the 10th and 11th in Moab. We were in the Taco, but I rented a SxS for a day. I shoulda checked, could have come out for a bit and met some of you in meatspace!

I did start the thread last August... Could have run Steelbender with us.

Was he angled left too early?

Yes, and once he got tippy he should have backed up. There was no way with his passenger front tire still climbing that he was not going to tip over. You don't want to come at it with that much of an angle. The sticking point is this one bulge out spot in the rock where the front tires are trying to crab crawl across. If you can't get over that then you'll straighten up and just sit there till you figure out how to get past it, so it does help to have some angle, just not that much.

That looked easy. Perfect line.

I meant to ask, did you guys do the new recently opened Hell's Revenge exit? I think they call it the Staircase or something like that. I'm already forgetting...

Yes, we all did the staircase. Some of us did it last year too. No issues other than I started without turning my lockers on.
