I finally got around to changing the speedo gear. When I try to put it back in I can't get it to seat. After trying for awhile I just tightened it down. Works accurately but I would like it to sit flush. Ordered some new o rings incase I break this one trying to push it in. Anyone ever had this issue?

Bigger hammer always works for me!!!!!

May not be the right choice, but I just about bet you can get it flush!!!!

Be careful on it not seating all the way. Mine wasn’t seated all the way and while it worked for a little, and it caused the teeth on both the plastic gear that plugs into the sensor and the blue rubicon gear on the shaft (sye) to get completely chewed up and the speedometer didn’t work bc it had nothing to spin on so now I have to pull the case open to swap the gear for it all bc it wasn’t seated fully.

You have to rotate it to where the tooth count range on the housing that corresponds with your gear tooth count is installed at the 5:00 position when looking at the speedometer gear hole in the transfer case straight on.

Did that. Just won't go all the way in. I'm gonna grease it up and try again.

The bracket that is holding yours down looks like it's down flat and not deformed.


Unless I'm missing something, that looks like what mines did before I did my SYE.
