I am new to the forums although I have been a Jeep owner for many, many years. I have a quick question if anybody is willing to answer.
I have a 1997 TJ Sport with a 2003 - 2006 TJ hardtop (no vents). When I first bought it years ago, it had a rear window that had the rear window wiper attached. One day during the winter I needed to tighten a bolt because it was loose but because of the cold weather which made the glass more fragile, I tightened it by hand a little too tight and it shattered into a million pieces. I then bought a replacement rear window but didn't realize the rear windows for 1997 - 2002 were different than that of a 2003 - 2006 rear window.
I went to re-attach the rear window wiper mechanism the other day but the holes did not line up. Attached are pictures of the rear window wiper that came with my Jeep as well as the holes in the new rear window I purchased after my original shattered.
- Is this the wrong model rear window wiper for this hardtop?
- Is there a specific model required to fit on the hardtop I have that is different than the motor the Jeep came with?
- Will the rear window wiper in the picture fit onto a different year rear window glass and if so, which year rear window glass will this fit?
- Is this a YJ rear window wiper and if so, will a YJ rear window glass mount onto the 2003 - 2006 rear window glass I have?
