Go get some wire mesh and cut 1/2 " larger than hole , mix up some JB weld and put a bead around the hole in back , press mesh into it and let dry. Paint to match , problem solved forever ! If mine ever gets damaged , thats what I will do. You cou;d get a tube of construction glue for a calking gun and use that also.

That’s a great idea. I’ll keep that one in my back pocket.

I used an old shop fan that I was tossing. I cut a piece out of the mesh.

I have a piece of mesh stainless screen I bought to reinforce plastic welds...I think I'll use some for replacing that vent... everything in that dash tray ends up down that vent when things get western on the trail.

I think I got about $5 in change, four lighters, a dozen pens, nuts and bolts out of my dash when I did the heater core.

Not sure if this is the right sub-forum because I personally didn't really do anything to my TJ today. However, I had the good sense to have a factory SKIM module installed and in so doing had the very good fortune to meet in person one of our forum's most knowledgeable and generous members: mrblaine.

Even though I'm a brand new forum member/TJ owner and a pretty green novice when it comes to vehicle maintenance, he and his friend Mike were beyond kind, patient and welcoming to me. Every question I asked (and I asked about much more than the SKIM module) was answered with simplicity and with an emphasis on helping me to understand why and how things worked the way it did rather than trying to demonstrate how much they knew and how little I know.

Oh yeah, although I went there to have the SKIM installed, mrblaine and his friend also end up (1) diagnosing and fixing my lingering tailgate problem such that it now actually closes properly for the first time in its life with me, (2) replacing my worn brake fluid cap and (3) the crappy aftermarket wingnuts holding the j-hooks to top of the battery, and (4) providing me an extra key for the new SKIM module. Did I mention that in they did all this without any request or comment simply because they saw an opportunity to help a new TJ owner get his rig in order?

Thanks mrblaine and I promise I won't say any other good things about you

Which app/obdii dongle are you using? Whichever one I have works really well, but the O2 voltage graphs aren't nearly as good as those are.

It’s called Blue Driver. I got it for like $100 on Amazon. Works though Bluetooth and it’s actually pretty decent. It’s been very helpful in the two years I’ve owned it. I just leave it plugged into my Jeep then I can check whatever, whenever.

Had a nice day off so I decided to do some stuff to the ol Jeep. I rotated the tires and adjusted my toe in. Then I got around to fixing a broken rear shock bolt. Tried welding a nut to the top of the bolt under the rear fender liner but then I just snapped off that part too. I ended up just drilling through it and running a self tapping bolt through that bitch until I get the body lift on and have more room to work around in there.

Gave her the first mechanical polish she’s ever had in 25 years. There were a ton of scratches and dull spots to get rid of.

I’ve always been terrified of a mechanical polisher. Turns out, it’s very easy.

That looks great! Did you wax it after the polish to protect the finish?

Texted the misfits in our group text and told them we were now a Jeep Co-Op and any of them that need it, it's here.

Then I got to work.

Had the tank dropped and pretty much ready for the new pump, which is supposed to be here Tuesday.

Cleaned up the old pump and found this, this is pretty much Orileys house brand. I ordered a Delphi from RockAuto.
