I’m looking to put in Bedrug carpet in my bare floor 98 TJ. After reading up on it, a lot of people say to put a sound deadener/ heat shield down first. I know nothing about what products to use for that so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I used CSI 25070 heat shield insulation. I wanted something that could be removed easily if needed so I didn't want to use any of the adhesive products. It definitely works great for heat. I can't say if it does much for sound as I rarely drive my Jeep with the top and doors on.

Did you end up putting carpet down over it?

That looks great!! Big difference in sound and heat?

There s a huge difference in heat. Before I installed the insulation the floorboard was uncomfortably hot. After the insulation there is barely any heat. I can touch the transmission tunnel and the carpet is just slightly warm to the touch. I rarely drive the Jeep with the top and doors so I can't give a good comparison on sound insulation.
