Another TJ on 37s thread

Bidding on a 220 swift. Doubt you boys no shit about that. Fastest rifle bullet in the world. I use to own one. Sounds like you popped off a cannon. Stayed tuned lil niggas
Oh, some of us are very familiar with the Swift. I had one in my all time favorite rifle platform, the Ruger No. 1. It went along with my philosophy of knowing what you are doing and how to do it well when hunting which made my other guns logical for me to own. Everything I hunted with was single shot with the single exception of my Winchester 101 superposed which was not used as much as my single shot shotgun. The rest were Thompson Center Contenders in Super 14 chambered for .30-30, wildcat .357 Herrett, and .223. Just because we don't talk about stuff, doesn't mean we don't know about stuff.

And in case you forgot the lessons of yore, they learned that barrel erosion in the Swift occurs fastest if you rapid fire it and get the barrel hot. ;)

But... there have been claims that it is an excellent round for Mule deer and Elk.
The round will easily kill a mule deer. That isn't the problem. The problem is the astounding amount of damage it does. I shot a muley right on the point of the shoulder when he moved slightly just as I pulled the trigger. It turned that side of him from right below the top of the spine down to almost the bottom of the chest and the complete shoulder into jelly. Ruined an astonishing amount of meat.

The reason I said nothing bigger than a coyote is I don't personally know many folks who eat coyote, but I know many who like venison.

I have no experience with the "swift", but I have always read that it was regarded more as a varmint round.
Looking at it ballistic wise, it appears to be slightly larger than a .223 round, but smaller than a .308.
It does have an impressive velocity.

It is or is listed as the fastest commercially available round. I got sorta close to it with a 90 gr hollow point boat tail hand loaded up at 3900 fps in .270 Winchester. Best I could do at the time.

Just poppin back in. Read some of the posts but no time to go back lol. Update is why Im here. Dana 44 trac loc is going. I hope thats what it is. Turns and sometimes when engaging the clutch even between gears it pops and jeep feels and sounds like the ratchet unit I had in it with the Dana 35. True trac going in. 37s must be hell on these things even just on the street as a daily.
edit: have apacolyps (i think thats what it is) anti theft relay on order for everything to include the dump truck. Some jigs tried to steal the dually last Sunday night. While we were at the shop. Less than 30 secs in passger door and cranked up! All three in jail.
