AndyG's work trailer #2

Paul Akers used to put out good videos... Some of his newer stuff... He kinda turned into an arrogant prick.

The biggest thing to remember about continuous improvement is that it's continuous... You're never done. The goal isn't perfection. It's to be better today than you were yesterday.
Haven’t watched Paul in a good while, hate to hear that - that is success for ya’- it can really do that. I know a guy worth like $100,000,000. He has no friends. Pretty sad.

One of the most amazing things for me has been realizing how much I can improve, and how blind I can be because I’m so busy patting myself on the back or just plain wrapped up in the game.

The wrapped up in the game thing happens to me ALL the time. For me, I push and push to get better, but sometimes, you need to stop and look back. If you're always only looking forward, you forget how long the road you've already travelled is!

That is so true and sometimes for me I don’t need to do either -but really really get into the present, To get really aware of what is happening right there at the job, Is that guy right handed and carrying his Hammer on the left side, Why is he using that tool for that job he’s going to damage something, Why is this trailer parked so far away from the work area, etc-

I am really convinced if we would focus on our own problems and our own improvements and things within our control and let things go that we can’t change the world would be a better place and we would all be psychologically healthier.

Maybe some people do that very well but for me I have always struggled to find balance between watching the big picture and making sure my shoes are tied.

I really do believe that you can win in life but you’re most likely not going to win by accident.
