Number 2 son was complaining his TJ was running funny and there was a check engine light so I gave him the code reader and he pulled up a cylinder 3 misfire (2.5 I4) I had him pull the plug and it was not right so he cleaned it and re-gapped it. Since the injectors were original I told him I had a set of 5.0 Mustang injectors in the shop so he changed them out. After that it still was not right so I sent him for new plugs, wires, rotor and cap as it was due anyway. He rushed the job as he had to be at work and it ran worse after so he parked it for the night. I had to work today so I sent him a text with the firing order to check his work, later on as I was driving home he responded and said there was a new twist and it was idling high and there were no brakes. I was chuckling to myself on the ride home as I guessed the plug wires were mixed up and he probably knocked the line for the vacuum booster off the manifold.
I walked in the garage the engine was idling at about 1200 RPM and both boys were pulling their hair out trying to figure it out when I grabbed the booster line and told them to plug it into the manifold and start it up again. They didn't think it was funny though.
