Don't tell @NJW !
You guys are so mean
I really hope he takes it as a joke, 100% intended that way
probably could not have this built today for twice that price?
There's certainly a bunch of things to like about this rig.
So far, the things I don't like about it could easily be changed. But, I'd want to see the underneath more and the engine bay.
Yep, that was not intentional.I love how your quote was attributed to me, but it wasn't what I said!
If you paid for the labor, it would be hard to get to that number for sure. A handful of parts are also discontinued/unobtainable. I would love to see this in person to try to determine the era Blaine built this in - there's always things Blaine changes since he's always refining things.

My OCD would never allow me to buy this rig, I need a cohesive paint job. The stainless/black drives me nuts. Maybe a nice heavy metallic impact orange, high gloss paint job??? I know goes against everything this rig was designed to be used for,
Leave labor out of it and the axles alone are 1/3 of the asking price. 800 bucks a corner for wheels and tires plus the spare adds 4 grand which now has you almost up to 1/2 of asking. Add in 15-18,0000 for the base rig if you can find one and there isn't much in it for the rest of just the parts. Parts in a pile on the ground, not under the rig and working. If you want to copy the steering from scratch, add 4-5 grand.Yep, that was not intentional. View attachment 660905
The built rigs I've recently seen photos of would easily cost 2x-3x the asking price if paying for labor.
The grille is a minimum need, no doubt. I entirely agree, I liked my jeep the best a long time ago but don't want to pay for a paint job.
