Wally World

I just buy groceries elsewhere and order more shit from Amazon now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fuck Walmart… I refuse to spend a penny at Walmart. My family knows not one penny I earn is to ever land in a Walmart till. I will not support one of the largest companies in the world that greatly benefits one of the wealthiest families in the world yet forces their workers to rely on government benefits to survive.

From Worldhunger.org: “Walmart’s low-wage workers cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $6.2 billion in public assistance including food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing, according to a report published by Americans for Tax Fairness, a coalition of 400 national and state-level progressive groups.”

From the internet:

Americans for Tax Fairness (ATF) is not an unbiased organization. It is a left-leaning advocacy group that campaigns for a specific set of progressive tax policies. Its mission is explicitly partisan, with a clear focus on increasing taxes for high-income individuals and corporations.

If refusing to subsidize a billionaires paycheck makes me a leftist, I guess I am now a leftist.

I don't mind having folks pay an appropriate amount of taxes, but this is a bit different from "subsidizing" the wealthy:

In January 2021, ATF released a report...
The group called for higher taxes on the wealthy and seemed to argue for confiscating the entirety of the billionaire wealth and using to give every American a $3,000 stimulus check.

Let me simplify my position… I am not going to buy stuff from Walmart and further increase the fortune of the Walton family while at the same time having the money confiscated from my paycheck in the form of taxes provide groceries to their underpaid employees.
