Almost 20 years ago I had shifted over from Fram to Wix filters and always keep spare oil filters on hand.
The last time I replaced the oil filter for the '01 TJ 4.0L I realized that I had used my last one and went online to purchase some spares.
Found seller on EBay with 99.8% Positive feedback selling a six 51085 Wix filters for a good price which included shipping.
Upon receipt I did a quick inspection to ensure the filter casings weren't dented and the rubber sealing ring was in good condition.
I should have performed a more thorough inspection of the individual boxes, the labels and the production date on the filter.
Recently I pulled out one filter to use and noticed something disturbing; on the side of the box that had been hidden during shipping I found a label that had been applied.
The label said HAS LF107 replaces 51085 and the filters the sticky label didn't quite look right.
Upon closer inspection I found that there was a label placed over another label and the date of production numbers were tiny; not larger like Wix usually has.
Checked the production date which was 2010 and 2011.
HAS LF 107 is a Hastings filter the LF 107 does cross over to the 51085.
With what I discovered; I am not going to take the chance in using these filters.
I contacted the seller several times explaining what I discovered; the sellers was response you purchased these 3 months ago and I will not accept a return.
The only thing I could do was to write a BAD feedback for him since EBay said you have reached the 3 months time frame for returns.

Where I am going with this is.... do a thorough examination of what you purchase online at the time of receipt.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of dishonest people out there trying to make a buck by any means possible. I found this ad a while back (my Jeep). I've never even heard of the seller.
