Strangle clinking noise coming from the engine area

Hi, ive noticed a strange clinking noise while accelerating, but more so when i decelerate. sounds like loose change going around a dryer. but no noise at idle and no noise once i get up to 30+ mph.

2005 wrangler tj 4.0L. automatic

Get it up on jack stands and open the hood. Have someone sit in it and rev it (or put it in gear if necessary) while you listen. Use a stethoscope if you need to.

possible timing chain issue? safe to drive at low speeds until i get it to a mechanic?

update- so ive noticed it is only while slowing down from 15mph and when i accelerate to about 15mph. after that, i cant hear a thing.
