Stock TJ uptravel

While viewing an " enthusiastic " discussion on engine swaps and suspension build philosophies , I had a question that didn't directly apply to what was going on there.
Has anyone measured the suspension uptravel on a stock TJ ? I am curious since I've seen builds shooting for 6" uptravel , and the other thread saying a type of build would only yield 1 " uptravel . I would love some insight and opinions on this all over the map concept. Thanks !

Stock rear shocks are 7" of total travel...3-4" in up/down.

Go outside and measure how much exposed shock shaft yours has.

Go outside and measure how much exposed shock shaft yours has.

So if the shock shaft goes full length , a stock 04 TJ has 3.375" uptravel . Thanks.
