Looking to level my stance. 97 TJ 4cyl. Original springs, new shocks rated for 0-1.5” lift. Considering leveling spacers, or 2” springs. I assume that over time the original springs settle and get a bit shorter thus the sag, so maybe just new OEM springs? Thanks for any recommendations?

Just start by measuring your springs with the vehicle on the ground. 12" in front, 8" in rear are the normal resting lengths. Then you can know where you're at and if you want to make changes.

A stock TJ will tilt forward slightly. They call this rake. You can level it out by stacking another coil spring isolator on top of the one that is already there.

You can buy them from amazon or wherever for like $20 each, or you can get them from a junkyard XJ or ZJ for a couple bucks, or you can accidently forget you put them in your toolbox as you walk through the salvage yard gate and get them for free.

You dont like the "stink bug" effect ;) Spacers would do the trick for a cheap fix. One of the 99's I worked on was like yours. New 2" BDS lift coils in front and a 1" spacer in the rear and it sat about perfectly level.
