I did a shallow dive with the search feature but didn't see anyone with the Dana 35 Spartan locker. So my questions are as follows because I am new to Lockers

The reason for the change is I have to replace an axle Shaft in rear and the spiders in the front.

1 Is it better to put The locker in the in the front or rear. If you are only going with one locker?

I am not a hardcore off roader but I have experienced traction loss with what I do.

2 has anybody used this one ?

3. The only thing I question on the install is how to get c-clips back in it looks tight.

I look forward to replies.

I ran a lunchbox locker in the front axle of my Jeep. It works great off road and in 2wd it is all but invisible. I would favor a front locker over a rear locker when only one is and option. If you use 4wd on snow covered or icy roads then I wouldn't recommend it. I've never run one in my rear axle but, due to their nature, I really wouldn't want to. I don't think the stock Dana 35 axle shafts are strong enough for a locker. If you do order that locker the one you listed is about 2x what is should cost. Since you don't do any heavy offloading a LSD might be a better option.

X2 to the above advice, your rear Dana 35 axle is not strong enough for a locker which would eventually cause a broken axle shaft. Install a good lunchbox locker like the No-Slip from Powertrax in your front axle and you'll love it. Most lunchbox lockers are noisy and ratchet/click in front but the No-Slip is undetectable in 2wd.
