Savvy Transfer case shifter: What am I doing wrong here?

I just don't get it. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly. With that said, the bracket on the transfer case doesn't seem to be pointing directly at the shift lever on the transfer case. it seems above that by an inch or two. When I shift toward low, the outer rod pulls out of the rubber grommet thing and the cable bends upward. I can't seem to get this adjusted out. Any help here would be appreciated.

The cable is broken and you need a new one.

Great. Looking at it now....is the smaller tube with the flare supposed to be inside the larger tube with the flare? It would allow it to bend, but it shouldn't come out, right?

The cable is brand new from Savvy.

The tub side looks correct and still fine. If you struggle getting a cable in a hurry, I am pretty sure I have a spare I can get out to you and then you can replace it if needed.

The cable should never be exposed. It is a push pull cable assembly and the only way it can push is if the cable stays in the housing. Opposite are the parking brake cables which are pull only so you can see the cable itself outside the housing.

I don’t really have a good tool to crimp that good enough to expect it not to fail again

Once you get this installed with your new cable, please update to let us know if it solved the slop issue you noted in your other thread.
