Rear main seal nicked during installation

Hello team,

Fixing the rear main seal leak and nicked it when it was 90 percent of the way in.

There is a small sliver of seal about 1/8” that is now cut and separating.

Is there any way to salvage that, or is it as simple as get new parts and we know it will leak?

As finicky as they are when they go in seemingly perfect, my guess is it’s toast.
