2000 jeep wrangler 4-cyl, 2.5L.

Need a new radiator and combing through the threads seems to give the concensus that Mopar is the way to go over any all-aluminum or aftermarket alternatives. Prices vary online but Wermopar.com seem to have decent prices. Problem is that thier site is a little...finicky. It states no match when I input my model. The part number I pulled out of previous threads here (55037652AA) is also a no-go according to the site's chart. And the part number that led me to wermopar can't be confirmed either.

1) Is mopar still the go-to for the radiator?

2) If yes, does anyone have a good part number or a link to the proper radiator, preferably at a sub-$400 price point?

Thanks

N.

From what I gathered a few months ago, mopar is the way to go. That’s not to say others won’t work but the mopar does cool better.

I don’t know forsure about the 2.5L radiators (that could be just the same as the 4.0) but you can use an auto rad in a manual wrangler but not the other way around. This is because the transmissions on the 4.0 are cooled through the bottom portion of the radiator. The manual is not cooled through the radiator

the mopar does cool better.

Not necessarily. I have a Murray radiator in mine and it has cooled just as well as the factory radiator, even during our brutal summer temps. No issues at all in rush hour traffic with the AC on, desert crawling, and highway driving in 115+ temps.

I dispute that statement. I have a Murray radiator in mine and it has cooled just as well as the factory radiator, even during our brutal summer temps. No issues at all in rush hour traffic with the AC on, desert crawling, and highway driving in 115+ temps.

Dispute that statement? LOL

Calm down man, that’s why I said not that others don’t work. And that’s a poor comparison, a 10+ year old mopar and new auto parts store is not a fair comparison. That’s like comparing a brand new wrangler vs a 2013 with 150k miles
