I pulled my harmonic balancer out this weekend. I used a pry bar at the end because the mounting bolt wasn’t long enough to get it all the way off. The pry bar chipped my power steering pump pulley, so I need to replace that this weekend.

It’s p/n 53010258, and Mopar has discontinued it, so I need to find an aftermarket version. I wanted something that’s an upgrade in materials, look, function, and workmanship, so Dorman and Cardone are out. I see PSC, OMIX-ADA / Omix, Tuff Stuff on the retailer sites, and I did read the GenRight review on this forum (I don’t mind paying two or three times the price of a Dorman replacement, but $199 for the GenRight is a bit unnecessary).

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket pulleys or these manufacturers in general?

I respect the made in China stance on some stuff but personally I would be fine with a Chinese made pulley vs a Canadian pulley..but at the end of the day it is your decision and money and I hope you get the jeep fixed up and back on the road soon!!

To be clear, it's not a political stance for me. Economically speaking, it benefits just about everyone when we purchase from the supplier that provides the greatest value - irrespective of the country of origin.

Instead, for me, it's about quality perception. My goal is to make sure my wife's Jeep is reliable as possible. I have had unfortunate experiences with parts made in China, so I'm willing to pay more for parts made in countries that I believe produce higher quality and more reliable products.
