Ok so this is a new one for me. Earlier today I was recovering a small tractor (Termite) similar to a kabota lawn tractor, the ones with a mower deck under the belly, front end loader and a rear excavator arm attached to the back. It had been sitting on a somewhat steep banks of a pond for 15 years. With this being said the wheels were flat and sized up. I figured the weight of the tractor is 3000-3500 pounds. I hooked up my 9k pound winch and proceeded to drag it up the bank. After I got it up the bank I noticed I was leaking fluid, opened the hood and noticed power steering fluid around the reservoir cap of the PS pump dripping down . We drug the tractor back to the barn and I opened the hood and let it run for about 5min and I did not notice any more leaking. Drove it home about 5 min from there, no leaking and where it had leaked on the axle housing was beginning to dry.

I will say this I had to constantly rev the motor because of the load on my battery and while even stand on the brake pedal I was still being drug forward, a few times I had to put it in reverse and try to drag it up a foot or two then go back to winching, the Jeep was definitely under a load that I have never put it under.

Have any of y’all had a similar experience?
