We worked hard today finishing a job the customer intends to begin to move in this week.

We will be there tomorrow.

The job is outstanding and I am very pleased with what we have created at the same time I would really like to have been done 10 days ago.

Well why am I not?

The cabinet door manufacturing company left an entire sheet of doors off the order, One employee got escorted out the door, Another one goes to jail Monday for nonpayment of child support, The painter decided to take off two weeks and do her own job and ended up having some serious health complications and isn’t working much for anybody.

To make it really hard to customer chose a prefinished wood floor- This means the floor could not be installed till everybody was substantially done but then some things could not be done until the floor was installed like shoe mold and appliances.

This is just the way it goes.

Now let’s look at the situation a few blocks away-

The lady is working her tail off to clean and finish her own house, It has liens all over it, The builder is sitting on his sorry butt at the lake....And I still couldn’t tell you when she’s going to be in the house.

Sometimes a little perspective makes you feel better.

Shit happens, stuff is always more complicated and takes longer than expected especially if you actually care about doing a good job and pay attention to detail. Perspective always helps.
