While looking for a good place to put the transmission temp gauge, I ran across this. I have not seen, in years, other A pillar gauge mount options, so this is pretty cool.

The thing of concern is the company requires you to send in your A pillar plastic to be modified to accept gauges. Seeing as how that trim is hard to find I was curious if anyone here had experience before following through.

If you are only doing one I would get the steering column one,I have my two (trans and locker) on the pillar but I haven’t seen the kind of pod I have for sale anymore.

I was considering the dual pod option. I'm not a fan of the steering column mounts. I did ask the company and they responded with an order form, so it looks like they are still doing them. But I have not seen anyone talk about them in the past.

This looks interesting. I've had some similar ideas that I wish I could mock up with a 3d printer. Seems like the upper corners would work even better, and there is quite a bit of space across the top that doesn't impede your view if you recess them properly. Maybe they'll make a 4 gauge cluster for me.

I bought that. It was horrible so I put it back in the box and set it on a shelf until a fellow member had his original parts from them finger fucked and ruined. I sent him my set up for the cost of shipping and was glad to take the loss rather than try to explain all the things wrong with them to the company.

There is no actual gauge retention. I guess you're suppose to put a couple wraps of tape around the gauge and shove it in the hole. Too few wraps, they fall out, too many and you break their 3D printed poo off of the pillar trim.

My Glowshift gauges (or maybe it was the pod thing I bought?) came with a rubber ring about 1 cm wide that snugged the gauge into the pod. I didn't have to force it in by any stretch and it hasn't budged in 3 yrs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Of course none of this changes anything about their build quality. I'm disappointed to hear this.

We have different standards by which we judge things. I would not own or use a gauge like that.

I also don't have to deal with a customer complaint if it doesn't meet their expectations, so we are definitely using two different standards by which we judge things. On the other hand, it's worked flawlessly for me.

I don't give a crap about the customer on this one, thus the USE OR OWN part.

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. I thought it odd when they said they modify the customers plastic instead of moulding something from scratch. Thanks for keeping me from making a mistake on this one!

When I bought mine, they had a stash of OEM stuff so I didn't have to send them one.

Yeah, but considering they didnt have that great of quality, I'm very hesitant to send mine in. Even if it just gets damaged in transit, they are getting harder to find. it would be a shame to have them do a poor job then not be able to find a good replacement part. I'll explore other gauge mounting options.
