Hi all,
New member, first post. Appreciate all the knowledge here.
1999 TJ 4.0, stock. Bought it a couple weeks ago w 85k miles.
Oil pressure gauge reads zero. Oil just changed. Read zero before and zero after.
Replaced the sending unit today, no change. Conducted gauge test by holding down the trip button and turning key to run. All gauges work fine except oil pressure.
Any suggestions on where to go from here aside from replace the gauge? Is there a potential fix for the original gauge (they’re not cheap, so trying to avoid buying a new one)? Also, any other issues I should look at before fiddling with the gauge itself?
Thanks!
Josh

First thing to do is put a mechanical gauge on there and verify you have oil pressure.

I went through four sensors on my 97. A Mopar worked best. It still would crap out on me once in a while...the wiring harness settled and sagged over the years and the wires to the sensor were tight. That plus 20 year old motor mounts and...

Definitely check wiring. PCM is right there...easy path. FSM with wiring diagrams is under the resources section.

P.S. I added a GlowShift pressure and temperature sensor to mine.
