Not so much recommendations. I need some help narrowing down between two tires in 31x10.5r15. These are the two I've selected, now I just ned help figuring out whether an AT or MT would be better for my needs. We hardly get much rain or snow here so our roads stay mostly dry, and my jeep sees 300 miles/month, maybe 400.

I wasn't planning on getting an MT, but I found some Cooper Evolution MTs for $130 a piece. Between that and a 5% discount, I can get a set of five for less than $700 shipped. I know that they wear quicker and are typically noisier, but again, this isn't a DD. I know Cooper has a great reputation for tires too. Tires are load range C, and measure 30.6" with a 19/32" tread depth.

On the other hand, I can get a set of five Toyo Open Country AT3 tires for $60 more. They have a very aggressive tread pattern and are probably quieter than MTs, and are also a couple pounds lighter each. I've heard good things about Toyo, but not enough to know if they're as good as the bigger names like Falken, Cooper, BFG, or Goodyear. Load range C, and measure 30.7" with a 16/32" tread depth.

As far as AT vs MT if you regularly drive over 65 on the highway or run trails at above 12 psi I'd skip the mud terrain. You don't need or want it at any price.

I have Falken Rubitreks on my Pathfinder. Great tire for an AT. The BFG MT on my Jeep has worn very quickly. I will likely go AT next time.

Toyo is probably a bigger company than Falken. Toyo and Nitto are the same company. They have a reputation for good tires but they are often heavy.

I see a lot of both brands and have heard positive reviews on both. As you pointed out, not a lot of call for the MT specific capabilities in our state. Unless you really like the look of the MT that much more, I'd go with the quieter and lighter AT.

Milestar Patagonia MT. Period. Quiet on highway. Great offroad. I’ve wheeled mine from KY to CA and everywhere in between. Get some.
