Does anyone have experience with any of the OEM style stock width replacement flares?

Looks like the options are Crown, Redrock 4X4 (Extreme Terrain), Omix-ADA or Rugged Ridge (owned by Omix-ADA).

Not concerned with cost so much but more the quality, fitment, texture and color (deep black). Closest to OEM.

Then buy OEM Rubicon ones from Summit Racing. Cost is $270.

Keep your eyes out on craigslist. People are always taking off the stock fenders and replacing them. Painting them is really easy. Just hit them with some sand paper and spray a coat of spray paint that bonds to plastic over them.

@tomtaylz is giving his away for free up in SF. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/san-francisco-free-tj-fender-flares.12793/
Not sure what the shipping would be since they are quite large but probably cheaper then buying a new set.

Rubicon fenders are 1 inch wider then the stock fenders. For you 12.5 inch fenders should help keep some, not all, of the mud/water off the side of your jeep and flying in the cab.

I painted the original faded flares when we 1st got this Jeep and wasn’t really happy with the way they held up over time.

Next I did buy some really nice take-offs from Craigslist and they have been fine for the past few years. Now they are starting to get a little blotchy in places and it’s starting to bother me. Guess it’s my ocd... they are not that bad and most people would not even notice. Most of the take-offs I see are in worse shape than these.

Do you guys keep your replaced parts such as stock flares? I didn't really like my khaki colored flares so I replaced them with ones from Quadratec. I just liked the contrast of black better. And I threw away my stock flares. Somehow, I think I just heard you all gasp.

If I have no use for the part and it has no real resale value (over 100?) but, feel like someone might want it then I will offer it for free on the forum. If I feel like I can use it for a trail fix it gets saved. If it doesn't fall into either of those categories it gets trashed.

I bought the crown flares. I would probably give the quality about a 7/10 and fitment 6/10.

Quality: The plastic is the right color but is not same quality. It scratches easily.
Fitment. The rear and small lower sides fit perfectly while the front large ones did not. They ended up with bulges.

My Jeep came with a NIB set of Rugged Ridge flares when I bought it. Fit perfectly and look good. No complaints.

If you prep & paint your originals right, they'll last a good while. Mine lasted over 8 years before I decided to get new ones. It's a lot of work to prep & paint. I wouldn't use sandpaper... it removes the texture. Scotchbright pad works perfect to clean & degrease. But Crown replacements worked great for me as well. Perfect finish and hardware included (but not all... I had to buy bolts for the small front fender pieces).
